"The man who truly and disinterestedly enjoys any one thing in the world, for its own sake, and without caring two-pence what other people say about it, is by that very fact forearmed against some of our subtlest modes of attack."
-Uncle Screwtape, C. S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters

Reading
Whenever I'm not performing onstage, writing, or working on other projects, you'll find me with a book and a cup of coffee. I do a lot of reading in my spare time; in fact, I'll never go anywhere without a book on hand (physical or digital). I'm partial to thrillers, mysteries, westerns, and fantasy novels. I also tend to devour any book I can highlight or annotate - literary classics, plays, history, theology, Christian apologetics and living.

My pursuit of reading has radically increased my passion for good storytelling as an actor. Follow the links to either my Fable account!

Photography
I love photography! Pictures are what eat up the most storage space on my phone. I've always enjoyed taking photos, but I've found particular joy in seeing that "perfect" snapshot with a photographic eye. While my photos might not appear the same to others as they do to me, each photo tells an unmistakable story; that might look different according to each individual eye. That's what I love most about photos - they tell stories, but everyone sees different kinds.
God has set eternity in the heart of mankind, and photographs are perfect preservations of our fleeting days here under the sun which remind us where we've been and how the Lord has been faithful in every season of our lives.

Music
I love listening to music! Years before I would discover my love for musical theatre performance, music was an integral part of my life. In elementary, middle and high school, I fixated on listening to as many movie soundtracks as I possibly could. I also have fond memories of listening to music in my dad's red 2004 Ford Thunderbird while driving around with the top down.

These days, my music tastes have been forged through a variety of experiences over the years. I love New Wave/classic 80s alternative, jazz, lo-fi, synthwave, and worship.

I consider the music one listens to as both a lens through which they view the world and a window of insight into their fundamental identity. Music holds a particularly special place in my passion for storytelling. You might be able to discern a little more about me through my specific music tastes. I have a special place in my heart for lo-fi. In 2019, I discovered the lo-fi music genre through a YouTube livestream which is run by the official label "Lofi Girl" (formerly "Chilled Cow"). Lo-fi (short for "low fidelity") is a genre characterized by music elements like misplayed notes, environmental interference, and phonographic imperfections (audio signals, tape hiss, etc.). It is associated with feelings of nostalgia and cassette culture, and it contains consistent beats or rhythmic devices which have been proven to improve work, study, and even sleep. I am a product ambassador for Lofi Girl, and I listen to this music whenever I am working or driving. You can visit the official "Lofi Girl" community livestream on YouTube via the link above.

Legos
I have loved Legos ever since I was a kid, but in 2020 I became increasingly invested in the more expert-level sets designed for adults. It was also in 2020 that I reconstructed a massive broken pirate ship without a physical instruction manual, using only a poor-quality digital copy of the manual to reconstruct the ship to its former glory. I have enjoyed constructing various "Adults Welcome" Lego sets, from architectural replicas to famous vehicles. Follow the link to check out my build projects!
